IM NOT SURE IF MY VENUE IS SUITABLE FOR A HARP? **IMPORTANT!!**

The harp is moved around via a specialised harp trolley therefore requires the equivalent of wheelchair access / ramp. A couple of stairs is ok. The full size harp cannot be carried up a whole flight of stairs- an elevator is required. Please talk to Sasha if your venue has many stairs or complicated access. Sasha's black and gold harp may be carried up a flight of stairs, by 3 persons.

 

CAN YOU PLAY FOR MY OUTDOOR EVENT?

Yes, with a few requirements to consider: Level ground is a very important for the harp to be stable and in the warmer months shade is required. A wet weather alternative plan is strongly recommended as the harp cannot get wet in any circumstances! In the event of rain, Sasha will be forced to stop playing and move the harp to shelter. If your outdoor location has slightly sloping ground, the black and gold harp may accomodate this.

 

HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING?

Please contact Sasha with the date and time of your event. Once it is established that Sasha is avaliable on your requested day, Sasha will send you details for transferring the non refundable $50 booking deposit and also a booking form to fill out with all the details she will need for your event. 

DO YOU REQUIRE A BOOKING FEE?

non refundable booking fee of $50 is required to secure your date in advance. Payment of balance can be made by bank transfer two weeks before the event. Please note that the date and time requested will not be reserved for your event until the booking fee has been received.  

WILL THE HARP REQUIRE AMPLIFICATION?The sound projection of a full sized harp is adequate for most situations. The sound carries well in chapels and churches. However in circumstances such as a crowded cocktail party over 40 people or large reception venue or garden ceremony amplification may be required. Sasha can provide amplification for the harp at no extra charge.

DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA IF WE HAVE A SPECIAL SONG REQUEST?

There is no extra charge for learning one new song that isn't currently on Sasha's repertoire list. However the music needs to be playable on the harp (at Sasha's discretion) and the request needs to be made at least two months before the event. If multiple requests are made the second song request will incur an additional fee due to the time required to learn new music.

 

ARE THERE ANY OTHER CHARGES OR FEES?

If your event is in a public garden or a loading dock is involved or other complicated access required, there is an extra fee of $80 as a helper is required on the day.

If there are car park fees involved these costs must also be accommodated.

DO WE NEED TO MEET IN PERSON BEFORE THE DAY?

It is not necessary to meet in person before your event, as long as everything has been communicated clearly and accurately via Sasha's booking form. However if you would like to meet beforehand to discuss details in person and to hear the harp before committing to a booking, an appointment can be arranged at an extra cost.

CAN YOU PLAY AT BOTH MY CEREMONY AND AFTERWARDS AT THE RECEPTION?

Yes! Sasha can provide music at both the ceremony and reception, however if the reception is at a different address an additional fee is charged for relocation of the harp and set up time.

 

HOW LONG CAN YOU PROVIDE BACKGROUND MUSIC?

Sasha can provide up to three hours of music, however short breaks of 10 minutes are also needed after one hour of continuous playing.

 

CAN I REQUEST OTHER INSTRUMENTS TO PLAY WITH THE HARP?

On request, Sasha can arrange for an experienced classical ceremony singer or cellist to be at your event (subject to avaliablity) at an extra cost. Please do not book additional musicians without discussing with Sasha first.

MY CEREMONY IS ONLY SHORT, WHAT WILL YOU CHARGE?

The minimum cost is $350. This includes careful transportation of the harp and other equipment to and from the event within Melbourne (up to one hour of travel time each way approximately), 45 minutes for set up and tuning before the start and up to one hour of playing time. If your ceremony is rather short, make the most of it with some background music before and after for your guests.

WHAT TYPES OF MUSIC CAN YOU PLAY? IS IT JUST CLASSICAL?

You would be surprised what sounds great on the harp! Put an elegant spin on your favourite pop songs! Songs currently in Sasha's repertoire include Rod Stewart, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars. See 'Music' on the menu at top for more details.

 

CAN I HAVE A COMBINATION OF LIVE HARP MUSIC AND RECORDED SONGS FOR MY CEREMONY?

Yes, if there is a particular song you would prefer to use the recorded version of, Sasha is happy to work with your preferences. Eg. Harp music as guests arrive then a recorded song as bridal entrance music.
